Frequently asked questions about RiskModels RIA Enterprise for registered investment advisers.

What is RiskModels RIA Enterprise?

RiskModels RIA Enterprise provides private branded/white-labeled hosted websites for your clients, powered by the same 41-factor risk decomposition and zero-knowledge encryption as our Pro offering. In addition to client-facing portals, you get a unified dashboard to monitor all client portfolios at once—multi-client, multi-portfolio monitoring.

Key Capabilities:

  • White-Label Client Portals: Your logo, colors, and optionally custom domain
  • Multi-Client Monitoring: One dashboard to view all client portfolios
  • 41-Factor Decomposition: Same institutional model as Pro
  • Hedge Recipe Generation: Per-client, per-portfolio
  • Zero-Knowledge Encryption: Per-portfolio DEKs, GCP KMS wrapped
  • Cryptographic Shredding: On sign-out, deletion, or 90-day inactivity

How does white-labeling work?

Your RIA gets private branded/white-labeled hosted websites for each client. We host the dashboards; you provide your logo, colors, and optionally a custom domain. Each client sees your firm's branding, not RiskModels. The same 41-factor risk analysis, hedge recipes, and Plaid sync run underneath—zero-knowledge encryption per portfolio applies to all client data.

What is multi-client, multi-portfolio monitoring?

You get a unified RIA dashboard to view all client portfolios at once. See aggregate risk metrics, concentration alerts, and per-client drill-down from a single view. Each client still has their own private portal with their holdings; you see anonymized or identifiable risk summaries (configurable) across your book. This lets you spot firm-wide exposures and address client concerns proactively.

Do client holdings ever leave the browser?

Client holdings are processed securely on our servers with industry-leading encryption. Plaid data is fetched using encrypted tokens, then holdings are immediately encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a unique per-portfolio Data Encryption Key (DEK). The DEK is wrapped by Google Cloud Platform KMS. Plaintext exists only briefly in memory during an active session and is never written to disk unencrypted. Cryptographic shredding destroys the DEK on sign-out, account deletion, or 90 days of inactivity—making encrypted data mathematically impossible to recover.

What is cryptographic shredding?

Cryptographic shredding is the process of permanently destroying the Data Encryption Key (DEK) that protects portfolio data. Because holdings are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key that only exists in our secure infrastructure, destroying that key renders the encrypted data permanently irrecoverable — even if someone gained access to database backups.

This satisfies regulatory requirements for secure data disposal including:

  • GDPR "right to erasure"
  • FTC Safeguards Rule disposal standards
  • CCPA deletion requirements

The shredding happens automatically on:

  • User sign-out (optional)
  • Account deletion
  • 90 days of portfolio inactivity

What brokerages are supported for clients?

We support all brokerages available through Plaid, including:

Major Brokers:

  • Charles Schwab
  • Fidelity
  • TD Ameritrade
  • E*TRADE
  • Interactive Brokers
  • Robinhood
  • Webull

Retirement Accounts:

  • Vanguard
  • Fidelity 401k
  • Schwab IRA
  • Most employer 401k plans (via Plaid)

Connections are read-only and encrypted. We cannot execute trades or move money.

Why offer risk analysis to clients?

Risk is the single most important investment decision clients make, yet it has traditionally been remarkably difficult to measure. Offering institutional-grade risk analysis differentiates your practice and helps clients understand where their portfolio risk comes from—not just volatility.

RiskModels uses the ERM3 hierarchical model, which decomposes holdings across 41 factors at three levels (market, sector, subsector). Clients get actionable hedge ratios and explained-variance percentages—tools most platforms reserve for institutions. Your white-label portal delivers this under your brand.
